Re: PICNIC Conference in Paris - Web Services for Regional Healthcare

| A regional health care network in Europe is usually a geographic-centric (not necessarily politically-centric) area of care
delivery. Let's say, the region of metropolitan Paris, or a county
like Funen (in Denmark). But this is not a restrictive boundary. A
region may include linked areas of different countries. Europe is unifying and with the freedom of EU citizens to move freely between member states, there is a need for medical information to be available in different jurisdictions independant of the software used. PICNIC is developing these components. It's a very exciting project. |
