Processing the whole cycle from initial submission of the 837 all the way to claim adjudication and reconciling the patients account in the EMR, which involves other ANSI X12 file formats, is a more complicated thing. I should mention Fred Trotter's FreeB project which aims eventually to do all of that. I hope to use Fred's "API" and make the Tkfp X12 module compatable with FreeB. I think this will be fairly easy to do since we are dealing with the same information. We just have to settle on what to call things (the "API") in a platform and programming neutral way using XMLRPC. Since Fred did this first, we can use his API for that.
