Given that any OpenVistA VivA is a full VistA implementation, you can in principle learn all about VistA with this software using the documentation on the Internet from the VA, WorldVistA and Hardhats. That said, launching into VistA unaided is not for the faint hearted, and you may be able to start off on the right foot at a VistA Community Meeting organized around the country by WorldVistA (http://worldvista.org). The next meeting is Oct 21-24 in the Washington, DC, area.
