Regarding FTEs,

It is for this reason that we will soon be introducing a training program for ClearHealth. This will be service that we provide at-cost that is intended to make soomeone local the FTE.

There will be times when you need more than just a FTE, rather you will need actual development, which is when you might need us.

As far as documentation goes, it is a very high priority. We are already documenting ahead of our 1.0 release, and we are planning on developing our docs in the Free and Open Source wiki fashion.

This has always been a priority of mine, I was the orginator of the FreeMED.org wiki, which is, as far as I know, the closest thing to a manual that FreeMED has...

The major benefit I see in this proposal by Fred Trotter to consolidate the open source code of EMR/PM projects is to increase the potential profits of Fred Trotter and David Uhlman. I do not believe that either of these individuals have to knowledge or capability to truly address the needs of health information systems and medical information at this point in time. The ideas put forward by Fred Trotter and David Uhlman benefit them primarily in their effort to secure their position in the market.
I am very suspicious of this type of value system as the source of serving the public benefit. It is impossible to detach their financial interests from their lofty goals. It smells like commercial hyprocracy and they know it. They just want you not to really believe that. But when they sleep at night they are really dreaming about counting their money not looking to improve patients health.

      Frank,

Can you comment on the merits of the proposal rather than providing negative characterizations of individuals and their motives? This does not advance the discussion, it just poisons the well.
