  OpenSource Medical Software website
Interesting Developments Posted by Jose Antonio on Friday December 30, 2005 @ 08:12 AM
from the FOSS lists. dept.
Editor's note: Looks like another FOSS in healthcare project list. These types of lists have a long history like: Linux Medical News' list which has been around many years, there is also the spirit project and you can Google for more. Best wishes for this one which looks nicely laid out. sls.netpatia.com is a website containing a recopilation of sites and project related to medical software with some type of opensource license. We would be very pleased if the authors of OS projects just test if their work is already listed. If not, you can just add it to the listing. The maintainers of the site are also interested in comments coming from the experience of the users of any listed OS project, notifications on project updates, requesting help from coders or testers, suggestions, etc. Digg this article

I've been trying for several months to find out more about HL7. While they tout their stuff as open standards, you have to purchase a membership which is minimum $450 per year to have any access. Can someone who has a membership just make the documents available so everyone can see this 'standard'? Their source licenses at least seem to allow this, but getting the first copy is another matter. I'd particularly like to check out the JavaSig HL7 kit at the following URL, but I sure don't have $450 US to give for it.
