Re: Linux for Clinics Alpha Release
by Tim Cook on Friday April 06, 2007 @ 10:46 AM
While I appreciate your philosophical approach I do wonder if you (or someone) can explain just what Linux for Clinics can do that Fedora, Ubuntu, etc. cannot do?

I am not trying to be cynical but wouldn't your efforts be better spent on applications that can run on Linux?

If you have practical reasons then I fully support your effort and will probably switch operating systems.

Thanks,
Tim

Linux For Clinics IS Ubuntu but we are configuring it so it will be focused towards the medical world.

Our project depends a lot on the progress of the Debian-Med packages (a collection of programs designed to run on Debian, of which Ubuntu is based). We are working very closely with the GNUmed development team.

We will also add resources to make the medical professional and student's life easier.
