  Medsphere.org becomes a forge

In another smart move by the "new medsphere", medsphere.org has been retooled as a community forge. They are in soft-launch now, and will make a formal announcement soon. The new site is far more community-friendly than the old one. Its a critical part of the Medsphere strategy to get the VistA community to migrate from Hardhats (and the FOIA VistA/WorldVistA that is typically discussed there) to medsphere.org and (which centers on OpenVistA). Recent licensing changes, as well as this newly improved site are smart moves to that end. The new site is already filling with good content, including a comparison between FOIA CPRS and Medsphere CIS. Digg this article

    Thanks for the props Fred. I'd like to make one clarification. Fred said, "Its a critical part of the Medsphere strategy to get the VistA community to migrate from Hardhats". It is not our strategy, desire or intention to migrate users from anywhere, especially HH. In fact, Medsphere staff have ramped up their participation in the HH list (a technically oriented list, focused on VistA-based distributions). Medsphere.org is meant to be a central forge for OpenVista related projects. Medsphere participates (and will continue to participate) in a number of WorldVistA sponsored projects and initiatives. We have every reason to believe that WorldVistA will do the same on projects we sponsor.
